Product details

Sibiricin is a natural indole alkaloid that has been isolated from the roots of S. sibericum, an evergreen plant native to Siberia. It is a phebalosin analog and has shown in vivo activity against intestinal bacteria, such as Salmonella enterica and Escherichia coli, in mice. Sibiricin also inhibits fatty acid synthesis and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in vitro. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy has shown that sibiricin increases the metabolic rate of human liver cells by affecting mitochondrial function. The antibiotic can be used as a vaccine adjuvant for diseases with bacterial origins, such as tuberculosis.
